Before you take a proctored exam, make sure you have approved ID verification photos on edX. You can check your ID verification status on your edX Dashboard. If your photos failed, expired, or if you have not yet completed ID verification, you can submit photos here. Photo verification may take up to 5 days to process, so please make sure to submit photos well before taking a graded proctored exam. Approved photos are required in order to complete proctoring.
If your course uses Proctortrack, in addition to the ID verification approval above, you would also need to complete the onboarding exam 5 days prior to the graded proctored exams. Please follow instructions on Taking a Proctortrack Onboard Exam to complete the onboarding process early.
Preparing to take a proctored exam #
Make sure to prepare for proctored exams multiple days before the exam due date. Choose a computer that meets the system requirements. Before you start the proctored exam, your space should be uncluttered, with no writing visible on walls or surfaces, and you must be alone in the room. More details about your test-taking environment will be provided within the course materials. See the video below for how to best prepare.
